Visiting Farm & Artisan Cheese Producer, Killorglin, Ireland 23rd September 2019

In September 2019, five students, a teacher and principal from Klara Sollentuna traveled to Ireland to participate in the Erasmus project “Walk through science”. In Ireland we students and teachers met our partner countries Poland, Reunion Island, Macedonia and of course Ireland. During the week we visited many exciting places and participated in various activities to learn more about the science, culture and natural resources of the southern region of Ireland. Below we tell you more about one of our exciting excursions.

Killorglin Farmhouse cheese

The first day of the Erasmus science trip in Ireland was partly devoted to visiting a cheese farm. The Erasmus participants from Sweden, Poland, Reunion Island, Macedonia and Ireland got to see the whole process of how the milk was produced and used to make cheese. Considering that, the participants got to taste the difference between six weeks old and three months old cheese. As you can predict in the following pictures.

From the cheese producer's explanation, we gathered much new information about science. We are thankful to the Erasmus program and Killorglin Community College, Ireland to arrange such a valuable trip.
